Slam Poetry
U nedjelju je u Močvari održano treće hrvatsko prvenstvo u slam poeziji. Prvo mjesto osvojio je član zadarske udruge Punktum i jedan od voditelja drage mi Knjigozemske, Roberto Vodanović Čopor. Nadam se da će objaviti neki video.
Kaže Urban Dictionary da je slam poezija
A type of poetry expressing a persons personal story and/or struggle usually in an intensely emotional style. Very powerful, sincere, and moving.
Slušate/gledate/čitate li? Koje su vam najdraže?
Evo nekoliko pjesama koje se meni sviđaju.
Jesse Parent - To the Boys Who May One Day Date My Daughter
To the boys who may one day date my daughter!
I have been waiting for you.
Since before her birth,
Since before my spark took hold and ignited the fire in her mother’s belly,
I have been training to kill you.
When you took your first steps I was preparing to make it so you never walked again,
When you played at war I was perfecting headshots,
You can’t catch up at this point.
And when you first meet my daughter and fall in love with the look she sends over her shoulder,
Her crescent-moon eyes framing her laughing smile, you
Are gonna wanna talk to her.
And when those hours pass by like sprinters during that first timeless conversation-
You will also know with a deep and impending sense of dread,
That you are going to have to talk to me
Denice Frohman - "Dear Straight People" (WOWPS 2013)
Dear Straight People,
I don’t think God has a sexual orientation,
but if she were straight, she’d be a dope ally.
Why else would she invent rainbows?
Dear Straight Women,
I mean, “Straight Women.”
Leave me the fuck alone!
Dear Straight Men,
If I’m flirting with you, it’s because I think it’s funny. Just laugh.
Sabrina Benaim - "Explaining My Depression to My Mother"
Mom, my depression is a shapeshifter
One day it's as small as a firefly in the palm of a bear
The next it's the bear
On those days I play dead until the bear leaves me alone
I call the bad days "the Dark Days"
Mom says, "try lighting candles"
But when I see a candle, I see the flesh of a church
The flicker of a flame
Sparks of a memory younger than noon
I am standing beside her open casket
It is the moment I learn every person I ever come to know will someday die
Kevin Yang - "How to Love Your Introvert"
4. There will be many times when you will be
uncomfortable in my silence, unsure of how I am feeling.
Understand, that just because I do not wear my heart
on my sleeve for everyone to see
does not mean that it beats any softer than yours.
Do not confuse the stillness of the lips
with the rhythm of apathy.
Do not confuse the sound of words rattling off, 80 beats per minute,
with the music of an actual conversation.
Just because I cannot commit the act of small talk
does not mean I don’t have huge things to say.
Just because I find peace within myself
does not mean I could ever stop wanting
to love so hard
